The third bedroom is a cosy double room which shares the gorgeous family bathroom with the final bedroom. The last bedroom is found at the end of the landing, another spacious character-filled room with exposed oak beams and a Super king-size bed.

  • Millbrook

Millbrook is a beautiful traditional holiday cottage tucked away in the heart of Lower Robin Hoods Bay. Set over 3 floors with a handsome sandstone exterior and warm welcoming rooms, this period property is perfect for one or two couples who enjoy having everything on their doorstep. (Including the beach just a stone’s throw away!)

Nestling in a corner on popular Chapel Street overlooking a quiet private courtyard, Millbrook is a delightful holiday home with a cosy and comfortable feel. Step inside to find a small entrance lobby leading to a bright and charming sitting room, with light streaming in from two large period sash windows. White wood panelling and a roaring open fire complete the warm and pleasant ambiance in here.

For your entertainment, a Flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player and a USB port is included. There’s also an iPod docking station, CD Player and a good selection of books and games for some offline fun. Some CDs and DVDs are provided for you too. The perfect excuse to light the fire and settle down to a cosy evening in front of a movie. Wi-Fi is provided too via the Bay Broadband Cooperative.

The cottage kitchen leads off this room. As with many properties in Robin Hoods Bay, the kitchen is small, but is very well equipped and features bespoke units and solid oak work-tops. You’ll find a full oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, toaster, cafetiere and plenty of crockery, pots and pans. Everything you need to rustle up something yummy. The dining table is set in the main living space and seats up to 4 people. If you need washing facilities, the property has an outhouse which has been converted into a utility housing a washer/dryer.

Both bedrooms are set upstairs in Millbrook. From the sitting room open a door to discover winding stairs leading you up to the first floor. Please note due to the nature of these old cottages, the stairs are not suitable for those with reduced mobility.

The first bedroom is set on the first floor, a charming room with a king-size cast iron bed taking pride of place. Again you have the luxury of two large south-facing sash windows throwing in lots of light. You also have lovely views across the roof tops to the cliff top and beyond. Original built in cupboards and a period fireplace add to the elegance of the room.

The house bathroom is across the landing from this room. Decorated with handmade tiles, you’ll find a bath with a shower overhead. Indulge in a long hot soak after a bracing walk along the coast.

A door from the landing leads you up to the top floor via a second set of winding stairs. Here you’ll find the second bedroom set in the attic of the house. Lots of character in here with low beams and stunning views to the beach, moors and village. This room has a double bed dressed in the finest Egyptian cotton bed linen. It also has a very handy en suite WC.

One of the loveliest things about Millbrook is the fact it has its own private out door space, something of a rarity in Robin Hoods Bay. This quiet and sheltered patio is South-facing and offers lovely views down into the village. Patio furniture is provided for you so you can settle down to a peaceful al fresco lunch. Typical of the higgledy piggledy nature of the village, the patio (along with several outhouses belonging to the cottage) is located 10m from the front door along a private path.

Millbrook also has the luxury of a parking permit for the private car-park in the lower bay. Another huge plus for a property in the village, particularly in the busy summer months.

Please note this property is unable to accept children under 5 years old.

A quintessentially English country cottage with an idyllic location, get ready to fall in love with Scarah Cottage…

The first thing you’ll notice about Scarah Cottage is the total privacy afforded here. It’s completely detached and accessed via a long private lane where sheep mosey along beside you. It has a lovely elevated position backing onto the local estate’s woodland and in front of you a charming view of the surrounding countryside.

Let’s step inside this large luxury cottage to find a handy boot room (with its original York stone floors) leading to the stunning and very spacious kitchen. There’s a kitchen island with bar stools, the perfect spot for a pre-dinner gathering with a bottle of bubbly on the go. As you would expect the kitchen comes complete with every mod-con you could wish for including an induction hob, a large American-style fridge and a dishwasher. There is also a separate utility room which houses another fridge freezer along with a washer/dryer.

To the side of the kitchen you’ll find the formal dining room, a warm and graceful space with exposed beams and views to the front of the cottage. A beautiful French Dresser sits contentedly in the corner housing glassware and other dinner party essentials. With the candles lit and the candelabra glowing overhead it’s a hugely atmospheric room for those special family meals.

The large sitting room is next door, with plenty of room for everyone to find their own special spot. With the double wood-burner roaring in here you’ll want to stay up late catching up over a bottle of red or two. There’s a TV & DVD player as well as lots of books, games and even a pool table to keep you entertained. Wi-Fi is also included. In addition, Scarah Cottage has a cosy snug room next to the dining room with another wood-burner, warm oak floors and a cosy leather sofa to lounge about on. Perfect if you need some space from the kids and vice-versa! There’s also a downstairs Cloakroom.

There are 4 generous bedrooms in the cottage. The first of which is on the ground floor, ideal for those with reduced mobility. There’s a double bed in this room and an en suite shower room with WC. The remaining 3 bedrooms are upstairs accessed via the original stone staircase. The second bedroom is a delightful twin room with two full size single beds. Next door is a beautiful double room featuring an antique cast iron bedstead and original stone window surround. The master bedroom sits at the end of the landing, a spacious and character-filled room with a king-size bed, double aspect windows with views out to the woods and an en suite with a bath and shower overhead. The family bathroom is upstairs too, a bright and airy room with a bath and shower overhead.

And if you love the interiors just wait until you start to explore the gardens. This well-loved and completely private 1 acre plot has been divided into different areas with something for everyone including a hammock to lounge around on. A delightful patio area with table and chairs is a heavenly spot for al fresco dinner and the large lawned areas with the woods as their backdrop are perfect for children to blow off some steam. Throw out a picnic blanket on the lawn, grab the Pimms and settle down to enjoy the wonderful views from this idyllic country garden.

Please note this property requires payment of a security deposit. Due to sheep and lambs often in the field next to the cottage, and ducks nesting in the garden particularly during the spring months, the owners ask that dogs are kept on leads. There is a supplement of £50 per dog.
