For experienced riders who have joined our beginner tour before, we offer a One Day Course that you can challenge steeper and deeper terrain. For those who would say, “Winter mountains?? Ummm….”, we suggest you join Spring Backcountry Course which starts in May. Starting at Kuraigahara [ 2350m ], after a 45 minute bus ride from NORTHSTAR’s lodge. Most of the spring hikes are shorter than the winter hikes. You can ride down to the ski resort until the middle of May. The spring season would be best for beginner backcountry riding. We also offer 2-day tours that stay the night at the Kuraigahara Lodge. Please contact us for more details.
  • Snow Activities | Backcountry Tours – R9+

Come and experience the thrill of riding one of Japan’s top backcountry areas. Mt. Norikura [Highest Peak: Kengamine - 3026m] has good snow condition all season long because of its geographical features and it gets fresh snow even in May. Hike up from the top of the Norikura Kogen Onsen Ski Resort [2000m] and challenge one of the peaks, ride in trees, and experience a natural half-pipe. Our guide will take you to the best runs according to the weather and your riding level.
  • Snow Activities | Snowshoe Tours

Even if you don’t go snowboarding or skiing you can enjoy the winter season in Norikura on snowshoes. Walking on fresh powder snow feels like walking on a cloud in the sky. Your guide will arrange the tour for your physical ability and your desired destination. First timers and kids can also enjoy.
