Blue Cliff is home to a community of Buddhist monks, nuns and lay people. We practice the art of mindful living with family and friends, sharing smiles, and supporting each other on our path of love and understanding. It is a place to quiet the mind, look deeply, and enjoy the wonders of life within and around us. Our community shares the practices of sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful eating, deep relaxation meditation, and cultivating togetherness with one another.

  • Summer Family Retreat: 2018

Join us for this joyful retreat celebrating our blood families and spiritual families. This retreat is for both new and experienced practitioners. We come together to play, to practice, to share, to sing. We offer children and teens tools for handling strong emotions, peer pressure, and expectations from parents and teachers. We offer adults mindfulness practices to enrich and deepen the bonds between partners, spouses, siblings, and friends--as well as between parent and child. We learn how to touch the peace and joy of the present moment and to nurture the best gift we can offer those we love: our presence.

    ---

A sangha of 75 monastics from Plum Village, Blue Cliff, Magnolia Grove, and Deer Park Monasteries will come together to host this retreat and other events during this US Tour without the physical presence of our beloved Teacher, Thay. However, his spiritual presence is still very much with us. Please join the monastics and lay practitioners at Blue Cliff to manifest healing, nourishment, and peace together as a spiritual family, a sangha.

As we train ourselves to be more deeply in touch with our breath and body, our feelings and thoughts, we will quite naturally experience for ourselves the healing and well-being that come with mindful living. Cultivating this practice together in all of our daily activities, we concretely contribute to peace and healing in the world. Whether you are young or old, new or more experienced in the practice of mindfulness, we welcome you to join this retreat. Families with children and teens are also warmly welcomed. More details can be found on our BCM Tour Retreat Info Sheet as well as info on our Opportunities to Volunteer Sheet.
